Visualized - the principles of the new Danish government

My friend Nanna and her colleagues have set out to explain the principles of the new Danish government in pictures. Nice job, you’ll get most of it even if you don’t speak Danish.

And I love the fact that the ministers arrived by bike for their official presentation.

Left Vs. Right

Lots of data visualization and infographics these days are as hard to read as written text. Beautiful to look at, but often too complex and too much information on too little space.
What I like about this one:

- it has an simple setup that’s easy for everyone to understand (left - right)
- plain coloring (red - blue, black - white for contrast)
- the two sides mirror each other which makes it easier to compare
- the headlines are recognizable (flags as frames)
- good sense of direction through use of arrows
- right amount of icons
- shapes like circles, clouds and rectangles are spread evenly through the infographic and create structure at the same time The content or the information displayed is always a whole different issue - you can follow the discussion about this particular one here: http://www.informationisbeautiful.net/2009/left-vs-right/#comments

Other than that have a look at Blog: http://www.informationisbeautiful.net/
